The future of Indian cyberspace

The Government of India decided to ban 49 Chinese apps. This came after it banned 59 Chinese apps earlier this month. These apps were apparently clones of the apps banned earlier. According to sources, there are more than 200 Chinese apps on the radar for the Indian Government to ban. This list includes popular mobile battle royal game- PUBG.

If PUBG gets banned, it will leave a huge vacuum for developers to fill. This was seen earlier when Instagram released reels in an attempt to fill the vacuum of Tik Tok getting banned.

I think it is highly unlikely for a game this popular to get banned and mostly will be a huge political stunt but it is better to be prepared for the future and talk about it. This leads us to ask the question, "will this mark the beginning of a new cyberspace in India". In the future, will there be lesser Chinese apps then we see today in Indian cyberspace? Edit: 1st August 2020:

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), an arm of the commerce and industry, issued a notification on late Thursday evening amending the import policy of colour television (TV) from free to restricted category.

Combined with India relaxing foreign direct investment rules, and the partial ban on Chinese services, products and contractors- will this mean there will be a variety of new options in the market? Will this lead to a self-reliant India? Is this a beginning of a revolution?

WE ASK TOUGH QUESTIONS AND WE ARE PROUD OF IT.

PART 2 RELATES TO TECH. WILL BE OUT 2ND AUGUST 2020 0800 ET.

WE WILL BE MAKING A FRESH ARTICLE REGARDING THE CHANGES THESE BANS WILL HAVE ON INDIAN CYBERSPACE AND POLITICS. WE WILL TALK ABOUT HOW THIS WILL BE A HUGE POLITICAL VICTORY FOR THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER.
